On April 29th 2019, the City of Candiac officially unveiled the Candiac TOD project, one of the projects developed by Broad Group.

A TOD project refers to “Transit Oriented Development”, and the Candiac TOD is one of the few innovative projects selected by the Communauté Métropolitaine de Montréal (CMM) to implement the principles of sustainable development.

As one of seven TOD projects in Quebec, TOD at Candiac Station is amongst the first to be planned. 450,000 square meters in size, this promising project has been created thanks to the joint efforts and cooperation between Broad Group and the City of Candiac.

Located near the Candiac Station and the RTM bus terminal, the project facilitates the access to downtown Monreal. This major project represents a projected investment of more than 1 $ billion, encompassing more than 3,000 housing units, business and office space, not to mention a large central square as well as multiple parks and green areas totaling nearly 59,000 square meters. Sustainable development principles will be implemented in the project, thus providing a high quality living environment, including bio retention and reuse of rainwater, intelligent street lighting and indoor parking with electrical terminals within the residential areas. These various applications will allow the Candiac TOD project to become one of the pioneers for viable and sustainable neighborhoods in Quebec.
